Petersen Stainless Rigging are pleased to announce that one of their apprentices, Oliver Hare, has been shortlisted for the South Devon College Marine Apprentice of the Year award.
Oliver, 20 from Brixham undertook an NVQ level 2 in Boat Building and Marine Engineering. On receiving the good news, Oliver said, “I am really excited about being nominated for this award, it shows that hard work and dedication pays off”.
The college will mark the awards with a ceremony held on the 8th of March 2018 at The Imperial Hotel, Torquay. The ceremony is being held to celebrate the success of the apprentices as well as the dedication and support of all of the staff involved with the programme.
Petersen Stainless is a strong advocate of apprenticeships, as they allow young people to gain valuable industry experience whilst they learn. The company currently employ several apprentices across the UK. They also provide support and encouragement to workers wishing to undertake further education.
Staff at Petersen are extremely proud to have one of their apprentices in the running and wish Oliver every success, both at the ceremony and for his future with the company.
